Gibhli studios are famous for their low budget yet good films. Here is a film which will touch your heart in such a way you will hardly feel it. Its a simple story simply said... Two girls, sisters , One 10 years – Satsuki Another 4 years – Mei Their silent adventure starts when their father Mr.Kusakabe shifts to a huge abandoned house in forest. Their mother is ill and is hospitalized. They regularly visit her. As satsuki gets ready to settle by joining a nearby school. In the mean time Mei spends her time in woods nearby. Mr kusakabe is an archaeologist . He does his work at home it self. Satsuki and Mei very excitedly explore their new house which they hear is haunted. They find some creatures which are strange enough for them to believe that their house is haunted. Acorns falling of from the ceiling. Finding soots in their room. One day while satsuki is at her school. Mie is playing outside her house when she happens to stumble upon little semi trans parent creatures, who are carrying acorns in their sack. She gets curious and follows them where accidentally she lands up in a place below a huge tree. There she finds a large creature which looks like those little creatures.But this one on very very big. As she is tired running around she happens to fall asleep on the soft stomach of the creature. Later when Satsuki return home Doesn't find Mei around. Satsuki and her dad search for Mei . They find her fast asleep in the bushes. She explains them she saw Totoro which is a giant creature. Satsuki too wants too see the creature but she accepts that it was not her day. Still she has hope that she will see him one day. And her wish gets fulfilled when she and Mei are waiting for their father at a bus stop one rainy evening. Satsuki even lends him her umbrella. This film has no exaggerated drama nor bright colours still it leaves a smile on viewers face. Characters are very adorable and real. Kids will happily relate to them . So go grab your copy and feel the goodness of this feel good film...
